We’re glad you’re here and hope you enjoy using our Freelance Marketplace. Before you get started, we want to make sure you are aware of our terms and conditions and user guides. These documents outline the rules and guidelines for using our website, as well as the rights and responsibilities of both you and Metaworx.
Our step-by-step guides help you create your account and get your listings on our website.
We encourage you to take a few minutes to review these documents before you begin using our website. They contain important information that will help you understand how our website works and how to make the most of it.
User Guides
Creating an Account
- Select the Sign In button situated at the top right of the Metaworx Home Page.
- Select Register next to Don’t have an account yet? to create an account.
- Enter your desired account username in the relevant field followed by your email address and account password (please note this should be a secure but memorable password).
- Next, click the box next to I agree to the terms and conditions (these should be read before an account is created, by ticking this box you agree to all terms and conditions listed in the contractual agreement).
- After you have clicked the terms and conditions box, select the Register button. An email will then be sent to your entered email address for confirmation and to activate your account.
- Now click the link sent to your email address, this will validate your email address and then let you start setting up your profile.
- After clicking the Return to my account button, you will be directed to the settings menu of your account. Here you can upload a profile image SIZE AND ALLOWED IMAGE TYPE TBC. You can also input your first and last name (This is not mandatory, if you would like to stay private).
- Now for the exciting part! Input your profile info (Bio) in the field stated. You could include Qualifications, years in your field, or even a story about how you started your skill! You can put anything you desire. You will also have an option to set a new password, if you would like to keep the password you set when setting up your account just select the Save changes button when the other relevant fields have been filled in.
PLEASE NOTE IF YOU AREN’T FREELANCING AND ARE PURCHASING A SERVICE FILLING IN YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION IS NOT COMPULSORY YOU WILL JUST NEED TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT STEPS 1-6.
Getting Paid
- Start by selecting the List a service button situated at the top right of our website.
- More information will be required to complete your profile. Start by selecting your skill in the Category field as well as Location+Country in their relevant fields (this enables clients to hire in their own country and in their local area if they prefer).
- You will also be able to set your Hourly rate, if you would like to be hired for specific tasks or per day. Please note this option is not mandatory.
- Next select Proceed to Stripe. Currently, our payment processor only supports certain countries. We are working on a custom payment processor that will work anywhere in the world. Please check back soon and we will have our new system integrated. Please see below countries that we are currently able to support:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom & United States.
- After clicking Proceed to Stripe you will then be directed to Stripe’s website where your email address will automatically be inputted into the email section. If this is the email associated with your Metaworx account click Continue.
- Next input your mobile phone number into the Mobile Number field. Based on the country your mobile phone is registered to, you will be required to select your country’s initials (This can be done by clicking the arrows next to the current set country’s initials, this will more than likely be set as US).
- Once your country’s initials and your phone number have been entered, select continue. A verification code will then be sent to your mobile phone, once you receive this code, enter it in the boxes on the Stripe website (1 digit per box). After this is completed, once again select continue.
- You will now be asked a few questions in regards to your business. For business type, if you don’t have a registered business, select Sole Trader. Next click continue.
- After clicking continue, you will then be required to provide some personal information. This will include, your legal name, date of birth, address and your phone number. Please note: You must be 18 or over to sign up for an account.
- After clicking continue, you will then need to select your industry type. After you have selected your industry type click Continue.
- Next you will be required to select your currency, country of bank account as well as your sort code, account number and confirmation of your account number. This will be the account your funds are paid out to. You must read all Services Agreements and Terms and conditions before finalising an account, we are not personally liable for any loss of funds that may incur.
- After you’re happy with the Terms provided by Stripe next click Save. You will then be given a review of the details you have just imputed. It is important that if any of the information shown is incorrect that it is amended. If you are happy that all of your details are correct and you have read the connected account agreement on stripe, select Agree and Submit.
- You will now be automatically taken back to your account on Metaworx. You will also be sent an email from stripe to confirm your email, It is important that you go onto the email and select the purple box stating confirm your email. After clicking this, you will then be directed onto your Stipe express account. Here you will have a dashboard of all funds paid out and pending pay out. There is also an app called “Stripe Express” allowing more convenient and accessible management of your payments.
- You will be happy to hear that your Payout account is now completed and ready for use!
Creating a listing
- Now that your account is all setup and ready for payments. You can now showcase your skills to the rest of the world. First head over to your account on Metaworx and select List a service at the top right of our website.
- You will now be able to add the details of your gig. Start by selecting a category in which your skill conforms to.
- Next you can add images of your Skill. These could include pictures of your past work, things your gig includes or could even be a banner to draw the attention of potential clients. You should include high quality images, that best showcase your talent. You are able to upload 10 images, so make sure that you choose your very best!
- Now it is time to think of a catchy title for your gig. You could list a few things your gig offers or be simple with the title e.g. Photoshop Editing. You can always change this if you come up with something better in the future.
- Now set the price of your Gig. This is completely your personal preference to reflect the value you place on your work.
- Next you are required to list your location. Users won’t be able to see your exact location. However if this is a concern, we advise that you simply put the Town or city you live in or work from.
- It is important to tell your potential clients when you are open for business! If you would like to offer a 24/7 service, simply click the checkbox at the bottom of the Opening hours table. Alternatively, you can add your opening and closing hours for every day of the week. Please note that it isn’t compulsory to input anything in this category as it is optional.
- Next you are able to add Tags. Like hashtags on Instagram or Twitter, you can create custom Tags that users can identify you by, or users can see a collection of gigs within a certain hashtag group! This section is optional.
- Next you are able to add tiers into your gig. e.g. Basic, standard and premium. You should type the service level in the title column as well as set the new price in the Price column along with the description ( Everything the level of the gig includes).
- Like the tiered services, you can also add optional extras. E.g. express delivery, the added value of the Extra e.g. £5 should be put in the price section next to the Title of the extra.
- Now it is time to add a detailed description about the skill you are offering to your customer. It is important to get straight to the point about the skill you are offering, you can speak about your experience in your gig field. You can also talk about past industries or businesses you have worked for, relevant to the service you are offering. You can also end with a call to action. E.g. What are you waiting for?
Please remember, it is important to have a quick concise description that is easy to read. - Next add the Delivery Time of your gig. Simply click the drop down on the Delivery Time field and select the time you will be able to complete the gig and provide it to your customer. It is important to allow yourself extra time, just in case some tweaks need to be made to the final product, as you may have to go back and forth with your client a few times in the development phase.
- Moving onto the Service Includes section. Here you can display to your clients that your service includes Unlimited Revisions, Ongoing Support, Webinar Call etc. If there is a service that is not visible, please contact us at support@metaworx.co.uk and we will be able to add any service you wish to offer.
- Max Revisions, if you don’t want to provide unlimited revisions within your service inclusion, here you are able to add the specific amount of revisions you wish to offer. Simply type the number e.g. 2
- Last but not least, you are able to add custom notes to your buyers upon purchase of your gig. e.g. “Thank you very much for your purchase, I look forward on working with you!” However, if you don’t wish to add a custom note this is not compulsory.
- Lastly, make sure you have read and understand our terms and conditions. It is important that everyone abides by these terms to allow a safe and work friendly platform for all. If you understand and agree to our terms and conditions please click the tick box on the left hand side of the I agree to the terms and conditions statement. After completing this, please re-check that you are happy with everything inputted within your listing (if you notice anything in the future, you can always edit your listing) Now select Submit Listing at the bottom of the listing page and your listing will be submitted to our team to review! If your listing is compliant with our Terms and Conditions your listing will be approved and listed on your stores profile for your future clients to view. Please note: your listing may take up to 24 Hours to be approved by our team, however this process is generally done within an hour.
